A picture window is there for light. It has no sash travel, no lock to operate, and no screen story unless the specification adds one.
Call it fixed when the lite does not open. Mixing it into the operable count makes the hardware package nonsense. Daylight and ventilation are different lines on the same wall.
Product sourcing
Product sourcing for commercial windows follows the opening type, sizes, frame finish, and specification section. Division 8 USA is a Houston supplier of commercial architectural products for hospitality, multifamily, commercial, student housing, and senior living. The services are specification review, product sourcing, project quotations, procurement coordination, and delivery coordination.
What to send
- Opening type from the type mark
- Width and height for each mark
- Frame finish
- Glazing, when the specification requires it
- Quantity and project location
What this note will not do
Manufacturer figures printed on a product page are reference values to confirm. They are not Division 8 USA test reports.
More on commercial windows. The five services are on product sourcing. Send the specification for a project quotation.
Do fixed windows need hardware called out?
Send them as fixed. Do not add an operation they do not have. Include glazing when the specification names it.
