Commercial windows

Hotels repeat this opening, and then they do not

· Houston desk

A guest-room elevation gets copied down a corridor, and then the accessible room or the end room changes the width. The PTAC sleeve stays, or it moves. You have to say which.

Send the typical count and the exceptions as separate lines. "Times 180" is only useful if the other 12 are listed too.

Product sourcing

Product sourcing for commercial windows includes a PTAC opening when the drawings show the sleeve. Division 8 USA is a Houston supplier of commercial architectural products for hospitality, multifamily, commercial, student housing, and senior living. The services are specification review, product sourcing, project quotations, procurement coordination, and delivery coordination.

What to send

  • The PTAC or sleeve condition from the drawings
  • Window type and sizes around that opening
  • Frame finish and quantity
  • Any performance values the specification requires
  • Project location

What this note will not do

The PTAC page names standards as references. It does not print one Florida approval code, and Division 8 USA does not issue that approval.

More on commercial windows. The five services are on product sourcing. Send the specification for a project quotation.

How should repeated guest-room windows be counted?

Send the typical opening and the exceptions separately, with quantities. Do not hide the odd rooms inside a single multiplier.
